Royal Enfield has finally launched the Bear 650 ahead of its launch on November 5, 2024. The bike has a Scrambler style look and is based on the Interceptor 650. This is Royal Enfield’s fifth model, equipped with a 648cc parallel twin-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine. The bike is available in five different colors. It has several features and cosmetic changes that set it apart from the model it’s based on. While the price is yet to be announced, market reports suggest that the upcoming Bear 650 will be priced around Rs 3.40 to 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Here is a detailed demonstration video of the new RE model.
Royal Enfield Bear 650: Design
The Bear 650 is unique in that it has a scrambler style seat (the rear is pushed up a bit) and a number plate on the side panel. It comes standard with new wheel sizes, MRF Nylorex off-road tires and full LED lighting. The fuel tank is the same as the Interceptor 650, but is decorated in a unique and attractive hue. Other highlights include increased ground clearance (184mm), shorter fenders and LED indicators. The bike also features a new circular TFT display from Guerrilla and Himalayan.

Royal Enfield Bear 650: Engine
Mechanically, the Royal Enfield Bear 650 has the same engine as the other 650cc models. There is one big change, though – the two-into-one system has just one exhaust system on the right side instead of two tailpipes. In this way, the torque increases from 52Nm to 56.5Nm, but the 5150rpm remains unchanged. However, power output remains unchanged at 47bhp at 7,250rpm.

Royal Enfield Bear 650: Hardware
The new Bear 650 has the same chassis as the Interceptor 650, but the suspension and wheel sizes are different. The former comes with 19-inch (front) and 17-inch (rear) wheels. While the rear suspension includes dual shock absorbers, the front suspension features a Showa USD fork, similar to the Shotgun but with different internals. Additionally, suspension travel is now 130mm/115mm. The rear disc is now 270mm instead of 240mm, while the front disc is still 320mm like the Interceptor. The bike comes with dual-channel ABS that can be turned off from the rear.
