Royal Enfield Bear 650 comes with more features to target a wider user base – to be launched on November 5, 2024
Royal Enfield’s 650cc product portfolio will soon be adding new products such as Classic 650 Twin, Bullet 650 Twin and Himalayan 650. Earlier today, we also saw spy shots of the updated 2025 Interceptor 650. The other new 650cc bike will be the Scrambler model, which is expected to be marketed as the Bear 650. The name has also been trademarked in several global markets. Now, RE has also released its first official trailer.
Royal Enfield Bear 650 trailer released
The 10-second teaser video shared by Royal Enfield gives us a glimpse of what to expect on the debut date. The caption reads – “We’re always careful. But we’re always faster.” The trailer ends with the date November 5 and an image of what looks like a bear. Check out the trailer below.
Test mule sightings suggest that the new Royal Enfield scrambler bike is based on the Interceptor 650. The tubular steel chassis and fuel tank are of the same design as the Interceptor 650. But the suspension setup is different and positioned higher to achieve longer suspension travel compared to other Royal Enfield 650cc bikes. The Bear 650 features a USD fork at the front compared to the Interceptor 650’s telescopic setup.
At the rear, the Scrambler model has dual shock absorbers, similar to the Interceptor 650. However, the Bear 650 uses a different spring/damper unit and misses out on the Interceptor 650’s air reservoir. The RE Bear 650 is expected to get a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel combination. These tires have dual-purpose block tires that may be tubed tires. The suspension and tire configuration suggest the Bear 650 will be able to handle light to moderate off-road trails.
The Royal Enfield Bear 650 has a simple, neo-retro aesthetic. With the classic scrambler format, the bike can appeal to a wide range of users. Some of the key highlights include full LED lighting, round headlights and mirrors, teardrop fuel tank, off-road track-supported handlebars, new fenders, upswept exhaust pipes, slightly raised seat and oval shape Racing style number pad.
The design of the footpegs and levers complements the sturdy nature of the bike. The two-into-one exhaust with perforated heat shield is new for Royal Enfield bikes. This is similar to the scrambler popular in the 1960s. The Bear 650 will use a circular TFT instrument screen, the same as the Himalayan 450 and the recently launched Guerrilla 450. Users will be able to access a range of app-based features, including full map navigation.
Royal Enfield Bear 650 – Performance
Powering the Royal Enfield Bear 650 is a 648cc, in-line twin-cylinder, four-stroke, SOHC engine. It produces 47 hp and 52.3 Nm of power and comes with a 6-speed gearbox. Although the engine is the same as Royal Enfield’s other 650cc bikes, the Bear 650 offers a higher power-to-weight ratio thanks to its lightweight profile.
The bike features minimal body paneling, a two-into-one exhaust, a short rear end and fenders. All of this will help improve overall performance. The Bear 650 will be positioned above the 650 twins and below the Super Meteor 650 in the company’s product lineup.
