Royal Enfield Explorer V4 Pro Jacket Review: Best for Adventure

As the motorcycle market and its safety awareness grow, the demands of consumers are also growing. Many consumers who are looking to buy a riding jacket also want something that is not only durable and strong but also versatile. Let’s meet Royal Enfield’s new adventure riding jacket Explorer V4 Pro.

So, what is it? This is an ultra-breathable mesh jacket for summer, made from a 600D polyester Cordura fabric that offers high abrasion resistance. We’ve been using this jacket for nearly two months now, and have been able to try it out in sweltering heat, unbearable humidity, and relentless rain. We chose the V4 Pro in the fluorescent green finish, which offers enough protection for nighttime rides but doesn’t look too garish for normal use. Another standout point is the soft neoprene finish on the interior, which avoids chafing.

For safety, it comes with D3O Level 2 armour on the shoulders and elbows, and comes with RE’s CE-certified Ergo Protech back protector. You can even opt for a Level 1 chest protector if needed. We rated it highly for comfort, too, with adjustable elbows, sleeves, hips and cuffs. You even get a separate rain jacket for protection from up to 8,000mm of rain. For extra peace of mind, there’s a Tru Dry waterproof inner pocket with a rolled hem and Velcro closure. This really came in handy when I was caught in a downpour at an event in Pune.

Overall, I think the Explorer V4 Pro is a well-made, functional and comfortable jacket that is equally suitable for commuting at home or traveling in Ladakh. The price tag of Rs 11,500 may seem a bit high, but compared to similar jackets from international brands, it is truly value for money and has no drawbacks.
