Royal Enfield Sales Analysis in August 2024- Classic, Hunter,

Royal Enfield’s sales have declined year-on-year, despite the good performance of the Classic 350 and 650 Twins

Royal Enfield has seen a significant drop in sales in August 2024, with 65,533 units sold last month. This is a year-on-year decline of 5.56% and a drop of 3,860 units compared to the 69,393 units sold in August 2023. On the other hand, the monthly sales have increased by 7.86% compared to the 60,755 units sold in July 2024. The Classic 350 has again received the highest attention, the sales of the 650 Twins have also seen positive results, while the new Guerrilla has also attracted a lot of attention from the buyers in the country.

Royal Enfield August 2024 sales

Royal Enfield Classic once again topped the sales charts with 28,450 units sold last month, up 8.93% YoY from 26,118 units sold in August 2023. It is up 33.11% MoM compared to 21,373 units sold in July 2024. The share also improved to 43.41% MoM from 35.17%. The new RE Classic 350 has made its debut. It offers new colour options, feature upgrades and cosmetic enhancements, though it remains mechanically unchanged.

The second place went to the RE Hunter 350 with sales of 13,481 units last month. This was a sharp decline of 4.80% year-on-year and 4.33% month-on-month compared to the 14,616 units sold in August 2023 and 14,091 units sold in July 2024. Despite the decline in sales, the Hunter still had a 20.57% share in the company’s domestic market.

RE Bullet and Meteor 350 followed closely behind with sales of 8,660 and 6,785 units respectively. Sales of both models declined both YoY and MoM. This could be because Royal Enfield plans to launch the new Bullet 350 and Meteor 350 after launching the Classic 350 Facelift.

Demand was strong for the RE 650 Twins, Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Sales rose 370.18% year-on-year to 2,586 units, up from 550 units sold in August 2023. Monthly sales also soared 21.29% from 2,132 units sold in July 2024.

RE Guerrilla 450 beats Himalaya and Super Meteor

The new RE Guerrilla 450 was launched in India in July 2024 and is based on the Sherpa 450 engine platform and received an immediate positive response. Sales in August 2024 stood at 2,205 units, a 50.10% month-on-month increase from 1,469 units sold in July 2024. The company’s product line also saw a month-on-month increase in share from 2.42% to 3.36%.

RE Himalayan sales have declined significantly. Sales fell from 3,856 units in August 2023 to 2,009 units last month, a year-on-year decline of 47.90%. The monthly sales performance was also down 27.45% from 2,769 units in July 2024.

The Super Meteor and Shotgun 650, which are ranked lower in sales, also experienced a decline in demand. Meteor sales fell 5.71% to 1,041 units, while the relatively new Shotgun 650 sold 316 units last month. On a month-on-month basis, sales of these two models also fell 2.80% and 30.24%, respectively.
