RTR brings Mystichrome back to the Ford Mustang, and

This signature color combines elements of purple, blue, green, yellow and cyan

Color changes may not be to everyone’s taste, but they are certainly eye-catching, and thanks to RTR Vehicles, founded by drift driver Vaughn Gittin Jr., owners of the 2024 Ford Mustang can have their cars painted in a special Mystichrome color.

Ford first introduced a variation of this color on the 1996 Mustang Cobra, then reformulated it and applied it to the 2004 Cobra. About 1,000 cars were painted this color before Ford discontinued the use of this particular color. While it would be great if Ford themselves revived this paint, RTR might be the next best option.

The paint is part of RTR’s extended color palette, and as these photos show, it’s mesmerizing. It features a mix of colors including purple, green, gold, cyan, blue, and yellow, depending on the angle from which it’s viewed. It looks fantastic when paired with a set of bronze wheels.

As you can imagine, this special paint is pretty pricey, although it does come in at a lower price than we’d expect from a big-name OEM. Buyers will need to spend $14,995 to have their Mustang painted in Mystichrome. A second color, called Urban Bamboozle, is also available through RTR for the same price.

RTR also offers a number of “standard paint” options, each priced at $8,995. These include RTR Hyper Lime, Leadfoot Gray, Azure Blue, Rosso Scuderia, Graphite Magno, Lightning Silver, and later, NATO Olive and Signal Green.

RTR Vehicles is also offering a Paint-to-Sample program, just like Porsche’s, which will match any color code a customer submits for a $5,000 premium over the $8,995 standard option and $14,995 premium option, depending on where the color falls on the palette.
