The incident occurred at the intersection of Embarcadero and Washington Street, where a group of vehicles gathered and began performing stunts. The department added that one of the vehicles was “intentionally ignited and set on fire.”

Presumably, the car was stolen, but it seems some people showed up with their own cars. It was a foolish move for some of them, as authorities “identified, located and impounded five vehicles involved.” The vehicles will be impounded for 30 days, and authorities say the owners will be responsible for storage and towing costs. Police added that the investigation is still ongoing, so they are asking for the public’s help in catching the people involved.

“These unlawful gatherings are unacceptable in our city,” said San Francisco Police Chief William Scott. He went on to thank “the hard-working members of the San Francisco Police Department who risk their lives responding to these dangerous and unlawful gatherings.”
The department didn’t reveal many details, but they released images showing the Ford Mustang GT, Corvette C7, and the first-generation Cadillac CTS-V.
