Officials develop plans for suspicious scammers after victims warn them of crime

What followed was the end of a series of incidents, and the perpetrator was caught – thanks to the victims for their determination.

The victim told police they believed everything was legal after discovering and paying for the car sold on Craigslist. The seller even has a DMV paperwork that includes the title of the verification content. Only when the buyer went to the actual DMV did they discover the fact: the car was stolen after renting it in Turo.

Police participation

Buyers will not only hang over their heads. Instead, they worked with the Corona police and found another similar list. When the department’s investigation department determined that the seller might be the same person, the officer set a trap. They agreed to meet with the suspect to buy the listed car for sale.

When the seller arrived, police detained them and found them driving another vehicle they had no right to sell. In fact, these discoveries do not stop there.
