The Shanghai International Convention Center is located at No. 2727 Binjiang Avenue, Pudong, across the river from the Bund buildings. Together with the Oriental Pearl Tower and Jinmao Tower, it forms a famous landscape in the Lujiazui area. The Shanghai International Convention Center has a total construction area of 110,000 square meters and has modern conference rooms: a 4,300-square-meter multi-function hall and a 3,600-square-meter press center, as well as more than 30 conference rooms that can accommodate 50 to 800 people. There are nearly 270 luxury hotel rooms, including presidential suites, business suites and standard rooms; there are also high-end restaurants, comfortable leisure facilities and more than 600 parking spaces. In September 1999, the last Fortune World Forum of the 20th century was held here.
The Shanghai International Convention Center project was invested and built by Hong Kong Expo Investment Co., Ltd. and designed by Hong Kong Huafu Engineering Consulting Company. The project is located at No. 2106 Hongqiao Road, Shanghai, covering an area of 21,000 square meters and a construction area of 43,219 square meters. It is divided into two parts: a conference center and a hotel. The basement project of the conference center covers an area of 4,268 square meters, which includes the equipment floor and the underground garage. The floor height ranges from 4.2 to 6.6 m. The bottom plate is a reinforced alkali raft foundation with a thickness ranging from 1.2 to 6.6 m. 1.7 m (excluding the 120 mm thick cushion layer). The steel bars are placed in the upper and lower layers, the amount of silicon used is 6,317 m. The design requires that the entire bottom plate leaves no construction joints and is poured in one go. The reinforced concrete base plate has the characteristics of thick structure, large body, dense steel bars and large amount of concrete.
