SEMICON China (Semiconductor Equipment, Materials, Manufacturing and Service International Exhibition), held every March at the Pudong New International Expo Center, has become the world’s largest and most publicized semiconductor event for the sixth consecutive year. In 2017, there were 1,000 exhibitors, 80% of whom were international exhibitors; there were 60,000 visitors, 30% of whom were mainland visitors from regions other than Shanghai and overseas visitors. SEMICON China is not only an annual trade show, but also a year-round comprehensive industry chain and a cross-regional communication platform for technology, market, investment and talents, contributing to Pudong 365 days a year. The organizer SEMI registered a wholly-owned subsidiary in Zhangjiang, Pudong in 2002. Currently, SEMI and 50 member companies in the semiconductor industry have settled in Zhangjiang, including leading companies in the domestic semiconductor industry such as SMIC, ASE and Huahong Group.
