Fastest Kodiaq build looks more aggressive and is packed with features
- The Skoda Kodiaq RS is back, now with even more power.
- It is equipped with a 262 hp 2.0 TSI engine paired with a 7-speed DSG and AWD.
- The RS trim adds unique styling cues, as well as a dark-themed interior with red stitching.
Skoda has detailed the entire second-generation Kodiaq line-up, announcing the return of the sporty RS trim in all its aggressive glory. This latest Kodiaq RS, known as vRS in the UK (thanks Ford for the rights to “RS” in the UK), is the most powerful version of Skoda’s largest SUV, offering a strong 262bhp and standard all-wheel drive.
The Kodiaq RS has its own unique style inside and out. Up front, you’ll find RS-specific bumper air intakes on either side of the grille, which itself bears the RS badge like a badge of honor. Standard 20-inch Elias wheels fill the arches, and twin stainless steel exhaust pipes protrude from the rear. As a final touch, Skoda’s signature full-width reflectors sit on the lower fascia, reminding everyone in the rearview mirror that this isn’t just another Kodiaq.
Gloss black trim on the bumpers, grille, mirror caps, window surrounds, D-pillars and Skoda lettering as well as body-coloured side skirts are borrowed from the smaller Kodiaq Sportline. But on the RS, these elements combine to deliver a sharper, more aggressive edge.

The performance flagship of the Kodiaq range is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre TSI Evo four-cylinder engine. The mill produces 262 hp (195 kW / 265 PS) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, an increase of 20 hp (15 kW) over its predecessor. Power is sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.
It’s the fastest Kodiaq yet, sprinting from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.3 seconds, compared to 6.4 seconds for the slightly heavier seven-seater. For those who spend a lot of time on the motorway, the RS has a top speed of 231 km/h (144 mph).
The Skoda Kodiaq RS comes as standard with progressive steering, selectable driving modes (Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual, Snow and Off-Road) and the DCC Plus suspension system with 15 different adaptive damper settings. To keep things interesting, Skoda has introduced a “Dynamic Sound Enhancement” system that claims to artificially “boost” the engine note.
Step inside and the RS badge continues to stand out. Electrically adjustable sports seats with integrated head restraints, RS badging on the steering wheel, stainless steel pedals and a dark theme with red contrast stitching create a touch of sportiness. The standard Suedia/leatherette upholstery on the seats, dashboard and door cards can be optionally replaced with a leather-based perforated leather/leatherette combination.

In terms of technology, the SUV comes with dual 10-inch digital cockpit screens, although a larger 13-inch infotainment display is also available as an option. The standard equipment list is extensive and includes LED matrix headlights with animated graphics, acoustic glass and a Canton sound system.
Skoda has yet to give any hints on the price of the Kodiaq RS, but it’s safe to say it will top the list of most expensive models. Still, even fully loaded, it’s expected to cost less than the equivalent Volkswagen Talon, making it a more affordable option in the performance SUV segment.
