Renowned Czech automaker Skoda Auto is currently working on the Kushaq facelift. The popular mid-size SUV will get a mid-life facelift in 2025. A test mule of the upcoming facelifted Kushaq was recently spotted testing outside India. The test mule is camouflaged at the front and rear. ADAS Level 2 and a panoramic sunroof are said to be the standout features of the all-new redesigned vehicle. Apart from the updated Kushaq, the company is also gearing up to bring the Skoda Kylaq, a subcompact SUV, to the Indian market. The car is expected to be launched in early 2025. In India, it will serve as the brand’s entry-level model. Upon its launch, the Kylaq will compete with the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Reviewing the Kushaq facelift, here are all you can expect from the upcoming Skoda product.

Skoda Kushaq facelift: design cues
In terms of looks, the most notable improvement on the upcoming Skoda Kushaq facelift is the inclusion of ADAS kit, as evidenced by the presence of air dam sensors. Other changes we can expect include a new grille, revised projector headlamps, updated front and rear bumpers and a redesigned tailgate. It may also feature a new set of alloy wheels.
Skoda Kushaq facelift: interior and features
The redesigned Skoda Kushaq is expected to feature new interior trims and ventilated seats, among other improvements. The current model on sale comes with features like electric sunroof, cruise control, 10-inch infotainment touchscreen system, fully digital colour instrument cluster, six airbags, ABS, auto-dimming IRVM and two-spoke steering wheel, follow-me-home feature, electric windows, rear AC vents, front centre armrest, height-adjustable driver seat, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six speakers, remote key, rear parking sensors, three-point seatbelts, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), auto start-stop feature, traction control and ISOFIX anchorages.

Skoda Kushaq facelift: powertrain setup
In terms of powertrain configuration, the upgraded Skoda Kushaq is expected to retain the current engine options. Skoda Kushaq currently offers two engine options: a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with a six-speed MT or a six-speed AT, and a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with a six-speed MT or a seven-speed DSG. The 1.0-liter petrol engine can produce a maximum power of 114bhp and a torque of 178Nm, while the 1.5-liter engine can produce a peak torque of 148bhp and 250Nm. However, the manual transmission of the 1.5-liter TSI version has been discontinued before, so it is uncertain whether it will reappear in the facelifted model.
Skoda Kushaq facelift: competition checked
In the Indian market, the Skoda Kushaq competes with several popular models like Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara (Rs 10.99 lakh), Volkswagen Taigun (Rs 11.70 lakh), Honda Elevate (Rs 11.91 lakh) and Kia Seltos (Rs 10.89 lakh). All prices are ex-showroom.
