Skoda Kylaq SUV will be unveiled on November 6; here are our

Skoda will launch the much-anticipated Kylaq SUV on November 6, a major addition to its lineup. Built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, the Kylaq shares its underpinnings with the likes of the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun. The SUV is expected to be powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine paired with manual and automatic transmission options. While closely related to other models in the Skoda range, the Kylaq is expected to feature unique design elements and updated features. As excitement builds for its official launch, the new compact SUV is positioned as tailor-made for the Indian market, combining performance, practicality and technology.

Skoda Kylaq SUV: Design elements

The Skoda Kylaq is a sub-4-meter SUV that will incorporate several design elements from its bigger brother, the Kushaq. Some teasers and spy shots show that the grille and side window lines will be similar to the Kushaq. However, the Kylaq will feature a new split LED lighting configuration with the LED daytime running lights located above the headlights. Inverted L-shaped LED taillights will be installed at the rear end.

Skoda Kylaq SUV: Features

In terms of features, the SUV is expected to come with amenities like power driver seat, fully digital instrument cluster, connected car technology, three-point seatbelts and reminder, telematics, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ventilated seats, leatherette upholstery, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB Type-C charging port, six airbags, multiple driving modes, cooled glove box, ABS with EBD, single glass sunroof, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, hill start assist, wireless charging pad, air purifier, and automatic headlights and wipers.

Skoda Kylaq SUV: mechanical setup

As part of Skoda’s strategy, the upcoming Kylaq will make use of the existing MQB-A0-IN platform but with some tweaks. Models like the Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun as well as Skoda’s Slavia and Kushaq already use this architecture. In addition, the Kylaq will be powered by the same 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that outputs 114bhp and 178Nm of peak torque. This powertrain will be available with a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic gearbox. However, it seems unlikely that the Czech automaker will equip the Kylaq with the larger 1.5-litre TSI Evo engine.
