Skoda Auto India plans to launch two major products at the Bharat Mobile Expo 2025 – the new Skoda Octavia RS and the new Kodiaq SUV. The Auto Expo will be held in Delhi from January 17 to 22. While the new Skoda Kodiaq may go on sale in the second quarter of 2025 (i.e. April to June), there is no official news about the launch of the Octavia RS. According to the latest media reports, the performance-oriented Octavia RS will be put on display to gauge customer response, which may be followed by a limited launch.
New Skoda Octavia RS
The Czech carmaker’s high-performance sedan Octavia RS has a cult following in India. Our last model is the fourth-generation version, which will be phased out in 2023 with the implementation of BS6 II emission norms. The company continues to sell the same model in select global markets and received a mid-cycle refresh earlier this year. Read: New Skoda Kylaq compact SUV delivery dates and details
The global-spec Skoda Octavia RS is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo engine, which has been facelifted to improve fuel efficiency. It comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission. The engine is also paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox and a 48V mild hybrid system. In addition, three powertrain options are available: a 150bhp 1.5L engine (with manual and automatic mild-hybrid technology), a 265bhp 2.0L 4-cylinder engine (only available in top-end vRS trim with DCT gearbox) and a 116bhp/ 150bhp 2.0L diesel engine (with manual and DCT gearbox).
New Skoda Kodiaq
The 2025 Skoda Kodiaq 7-seater SUV has undergone comprehensive design changes and functional upgrades. It adopts the brand’s “Modern Solid” design language and includes features such as a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a new smart dial setup with individual customizable color displays, and a fully digital instrument panel. The new generation model is longer and offers more cabin space and cargo area than the previous version.
No changes will be made behind the scenes. The new Skoda Kodiaq will continue to use a 2.0L turbo gasoline engine, paired with a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. This setup delivers a maximum power of 190bhp and 320Nm of torque. The 4X4 transmission system will also be inherited from the old model.
