Skoda Slavia, Kushaq, Superb and other more expensive models

Several major carmakers including Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Kia will increase the pricing of their cars from January 2025. Skoda India has also joined the pack, with the cost of cars like Slavia, Kushaq and Kodiaq increasing by 3% starting next month. Similar to many other automakers, the price increase is due to rising input costs and total operating expenses. However, it is worth noting that the recently launched Kylaq will not participate in the price increase until its pre-orders exceed 33,333 units. Buyers can currently purchase the SUV at introductory prices (Rs 7.89 lakh to Rs 14.40 lakh, ex-showroom). For reference, the Kodiaq is priced at Rs 39.99 lakh, while the Kushaq is priced at Rs 10.89 lakh. On the other hand, the Slavia retails at Rs 10.69 lakh. These are starting and ex-showroom prices.

New Skoda Kodiaq to be launched in India soon

The all-new Skoda Kodiaq is expected to make its India debut at the upcoming Bharat Mobile Exhibition in New Delhi (January 17-22). However, the SUV is likely to hit the shelves in our market around the April-June quarter next year. Globally, the Skoda Kodiaq is available in a range of powertrain options, but the India-spec vehicle is likely to come with the same 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 187 hp and 320 Nm. It has a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission combined with all-wheel drive (4X4).

Based on previous test mules, the next-generation Skoda Kodiaq features split headlights, a butterfly grille, and a honeycomb pattern with vertical air dams on the sides. It also features C-shaped wraparound LED taillights, redesigned bumpers and new alloy wheels. Additionally, the SUV has an upward-sloping lower window line near the C-pillar.

In terms of features, the updated Kodiaq is likely to include a 10.25-inch digital driver display, a head-up display, a 13-inch touchscreen, wireless mobile phone charging and a panoramic sunroof. It is expected to come with up to 9 airbags, 360-degree cameras, electronic stability control (ESC) and ADAS for safety.
