2024 has a mixed ending for Skoda and Volkswagen. Sales of both brands fell year-on-year, but saw substantial month-on-month growth. In December 2024, the two automakers’ combined sales were 9,341 vehicles, compared with 9,600 vehicles in December 2023, a year-on-year decrease of 2.7%. However, month-on-month sales increased significantly by 57.81% from the 3,422 units sold in November 2024. The following is the sales performance of the two brands in December 2024.
Skoda sales breakdown: year-on-year and month-on-month
Skoda’s total sales in December 2024 fell 2.48% year-on-year to 4,554 vehicles, down from 4,670 vehicles in December 2023. However, month-on-month sales increased significantly by 57.80%, while sales in November 2024 were 2,886 vehicles.
– Skoda Kushaq It maintained its position as the best-selling product in the brand’s product line, with 2,465 units sold in December 2024. While year-on-year sales fell slightly by 0.80% from 2,485 units sold in December 2023, month-on-month sales increased by 61.75% from 1,524 units sold in November 2024, which is impressive. Kushaq also ranked sixth in the compact SUV category this month , ahead of the mass army.
– Skoda Slavia 1,894 units were sold in December 2024, a year-on-year decrease of 3.37% from 1,960 units in December 2023. However, compared with 1,131 units sold in November 2024, month-on-month sales jumped 67.46%, a strong performance, accounting for 41.59% of the portfolio share.
– Skoda Kodiaq In December 2024, sales dropped 13.78% year-on-year and month-on-month to 194 vehicles. The drop is in line with expectations surrounding the launch of the second-generation Kodiaq, which recently showcased new features like ADAS and five- and seven-seat configurations.
– Skoda Superb Sales have dropped significantly, with only 1 unit sold in December 2024, a month-on-month decrease of 83.33% from 6 units sold in November 2024. The recently showcased Superb Diesel 4×4 is expected to reignite interest when it is launched in the Indian market via the CBU route.
Volkswagen sales breakdown: year-on-year vs. month-on-month
Volkswagen’s sales in December 2024 decreased by 2.90% year-on-year, with sales of 4,787 vehicles compared with 4,930 vehicles in December 2023. However, month-on-month sales surged 57.83% from 3,033 units in November 2024, with sales increasing by 1,754 units.
– mass army In December 2024, Volkswagen led the way with sales of 2,335 units, a year-on-year decrease of 4.92% from 2,456 units in December 2023. The month-on-month sales volume increased strongly by 55.98% from 1,497 units in November 2024. Taigun currently holds 48.78% share folder in Volkswagen.
– Volkswagen Vitesse 2,257 units were sold in December 2024, a year-on-year increase of 2.64% from 2,200 units sold in December 2023. The month-on-month sales volume increased by 54.91%, an increase from 1,457 units in November 2024.
– Volkswagen Tiguan Sales in December 2024 dropped 29.09% year-on-year to 195 units, down from 275 units sold in December 2023. Despite the year-on-year decline, the month-on-month performance improved significantly, with an increase of 146.84% compared to November 2024, when 79 units were sold.
