Skywell recently launched its new “Q” electric hatchback at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, emphasizing a driving range of more than 482 kilometers on a single charge. Built for urban and long-distance travel, the “Q” aims to stand out in the highly competitive electric vehicle market. Skywell ‘Q’ electric hatchback: battery pack and range
The new model from the Chinese manufacturer will come with two battery pack options. Although its exact capacity remains under wraps, it has been confirmed that the larger battery will provide the hatchback with a range of just over 482 kilometers on a full charge. All Q models feature a single electric motor that powers the front wheels and produces a maximum power of 201 horsepower. Skywell claims the Q can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The brand will also offer DC fast charging, which can charge the flagship model from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes.

The Q has an attractive design, measuring 4,297 mm in length, 1,836 mm in width and 1,536 mm in height. It has an eye-catching front end with an LED light bar and a dark lower grille. The car’s side profile is particularly striking thanks to bold creases in the doors and small vertical slits behind the front wheel arches. Other notable design features shown at the Paris event include side skirts and a rear diffuser that appears to be made from faux forged carbon fiber. The Q also features aerodynamic wheel covers to improve efficiency and a rear LED light bar.

The interior of this model is equipped with a 15.6-inch touch display, a sunroof and a 360-degree panoramic parking camera. On top of that, the cabin showcases composite fiber paneling, 128-color ambient lighting, a wireless charging pad, and orange accents. The infotainment system is enhanced by a German-designed Metz sound system, wireless smartphone integration and rear-seat touchscreen displays. In terms of safety, the car is equipped with intelligent cruise assist, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, intelligent speed assist and other functions.

Skywell says the Q will be available at a competitive price when UK specs are announced, likely earlier than next year’s expected launch. The Q will come with a 7-year or 100,000-mile warranty, supplemented by an 8-year or 155,000-mile battery warranty.
