U.S. and China drive business travel recovery
A new report from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) predicts that business travel spending will reach a new high of $1.5 trillion by the end of 2024. The United States and China are the major players, with business travel markets in both countries growing 13.4% and 13.1% respectively from pre-pandemic levels.

Business travel has always been a significant economic driver, thanks in large part to the power of in-person meetings and events. “Business travel is not only back, it’s exceeding expectations,” said WTTC President and CEO Julia Simpson. “While virtual meetings have kept people connected during the pandemic, in-person interactions are proving more important than ever.”
The strengthening meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry also makes a significant economic contribution, with businesses around the world increasing investment in business travel to build relationships within teams and extended networks. Growing interest in hybrid travel or bleisure, with business travelers broadening their scope of travel to include personal vacations, is also boosting the market.
Wynn Resorts’ new financial forecast for its UAE projects
Wynn Resorts gave investors and analysts a first look at its UAE casino project on Tuesday. Wynn Al Marian Island in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) is expected to open in 2027 at a cost of $5.1 billion, an increase of $1.2 billion from previous estimates. Wynn also announced that it will break ground on nearly the entire area of Ras Al Khaimah’s third Marjan Island (Island 3).
Wynn has been awarded the first casino license in the United Arab Emirates, opening up a new frontier in the country’s hotel market. Wynn Al Marjan Island would be tailor-made for the ultra-rich, which makes sense since 20% of the world’s high-net-worth individuals are UAE residents (that works out to 9.7 million people). Conference professors looking for a venue that meets the standards of the most discerning tastes may find the perfect choice in the Marjan Island Project.

A new report released by WTTC shows that Aboriginal tourism is expected to contribute $67 billion to the global economy by 2034. The research was presented at the Council’s Global Summit in Perth, Australia, and highlights remote areas most likely to benefit from a surge in tourism and Aboriginal travel. This economic influx can bring huge benefits to sustainable development, conservation and cultural preservation efforts in these areas, ensuring protection for generations of visitors.
Whether it’s an incentive, breakout session, conference, conference or other gathering, industry professionals are finding that Indigenous-focused events and experiences are a highlight for many attendees, making a significant impact on the venue. “Indigenous tourism is not just about showcasing a rich cultural heritage;
