This SUV is so cool, it has its own Instagram account, and it happens to be a tribute to the most awesome movie in history

- This 1992 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition is a replica of the car used in the movie Jurassic Park.
- It comes with some Jurassic Park memorabilia as well as a clean title.
- In the long past, it had never been destroyed by the dinosaurs.
Jurassic Park is one of the most comprehensive and groundbreaking films in the history of cinema. While the premise and story ultimately went beyond the realm of possibility, the film did employ some practical effects. Hailed as one of the best, a 1992 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition is currently up for auction.
This Ford is partly different from the car in the movie, with a 4.0-liter V6 engine, a four-speed automatic transmission, and rear-wheel drive. With just 74,000 miles on the odometer, the new owner will be provided with a detailed service history, a pair of keys, and even the original window sticker. In many ways, this is pretty good considering the car’s age.

What really sets it apart, though, is the level of detail it has as a tribute to the touring SUV from the movie. The bodywork is painted in the exact same livery thanks to the wrap, and several aspects of the car have been treated to a Plasti-Dip color treatment to complete the effect. The grille, taillight guards, and auxiliary lights all mimic the car that appeared on screen.
At the same time, there are some notable differences in this car, not the least of which is the roof. Remember those practical effects we mentioned at the beginning? One of them was a life-sized T. Rex animatronic that had sex with a real Ford Explorer on the set. This car, currently being auctioned off on Bring A Trailer, does not have the glass roof of the car in the movie.
Also, unsurprisingly, it doesn’t have the central infotainment system that the cars in the park have. Still, we’d guess most people won’t notice the differences unless they, like me, hold Jurassic Park in thin air. Prospective owners can even learn more about this Explorer’s past life, as it has its own Instagram account, jpexplorer04.
Anyone interested should check out the auction listing and pony up some money, because I really don’t need Jurassic Park to take over my life, probably not anymore. Please buy it and let me ride it around. I promise it won’t jump out when I’m driving slowly through the park.
