This is the second S2K of the original owner, as she has driven red every day

- The auction house expects the car to be priced between $60,000 and $80,000.
- Typically, in North America, only the rare Honda S2000 CR models are sold.
In the world of automobiles, the phrase “they don’t make them like they did before and make them like they did before” – sometimes unfair, sometimes at the attractions. But when it comes to real back-to-back sports cars, it is usually correct. Yes, there are still some great affordable sports cars on the market, such as the Toyota GR86 and the Mazda MX-5, but for some, they are too technical and just won’t capture that original, old-fashioned charm.
That’s where JDM legends like the Honda S2000 are their own. Although Honda’s most memorable performance machine is the front-wheel drive hot hatch, the S2000 is a rear-wheel drive sports car that makes the world talk about the world. Production ended 15 years ago, but demand for the original S2000 is still huge. In fact, $95,000 for eyebrow irritation was recently sold.

Broad Arrow Auctions handled the sale of the 2000 Honda S2000, making it one of the most expensive non-CR models ever. The main reason for the nearly six-figure price tag is its very low mileage, just 42 miles (67 km). This may make it one of the lowest-level examples that still exist in the United States.

Given that it has been hardly driven over the past 25 years, it now looks as good as it was when it left the factory, which is no surprise. It ends with the Silverstone Metallic in black interior, which has a color combination that is a popular (if not particularly bold) option when these cars are new.
The car was originally shipped through Drum Honda in New York and was originally owned by a woman whose daily driver already had the red S2000 because that wasn’t enough. This particular example is still unaffected and looks like it has been sealed for two and a half years. The auction house estimates the final price to be between $60,000 and $80,000, but the bidder has other ideas.
Obviously, there are people who are very eager to get their help and are willing to pay premiums. We don’t know what the new owners plan to do with their mint S2K, but hopefully they’re actually willing to drive and enjoy things instead of making it a garage queen and waiting for it to appreciate more and sell it in the future for profit.
