Steelhead Productions opens in Las Vegas, showcasing new facilities, sustainable innovation and community commitment
By Mark Hebert, Exhibition City News
Steelhead Productions recently opened its new facility at 7120 S Buffalo Dr., Suite 100, with a grand opening event on Thursday, November 7, attended by approximately 200 customers, partners and Community members attended the event. The move marks Steelhead’s third expansion since its founding in 1996, as it continues to expand its space in Las Vegas, driven by continued growth and the need to add operational capacity.
The 117,000-square-foot facility offers a host of new features that attendees can explore through guided tours led by Steelhead team members, including John Mullen from Sales. During the tour, Mullen highlighted key features of the space, including expanded inventory, an emphasis on sustainable materials, and employee-focused office areas.
“This facility marks Steelhead’s eighth home in our 29-year history. As we strive to design and build outstanding solutions for our clients within these walls, we create lasting memories while doing so. We are very Thank you to the Steelheads, friends, family and our partners for joining us tonight for what is sure to be a moment we won’t forget,” said Sean C. Combs, CEO of Steelhead Productions.
Facility Features and Sustainability Efforts
The new facility was designed with flexibility in mind. For clients looking for a custom exhibit design, Steelhead offers a touch screen system that allows visitors to mix and match booth elements to suit their needs. Mullen introduced the audience to Steelhead’s modular design approach, which uses matrix-scale systems—durable and reusable materials that can be packaged and reconfigured for future projects. Mullen says the matrix system not only allows for adaptable booth designs but also helps achieve Steelhead’s goal of minimizing waste.
As Mullen guided guests through the manufacturing area, he emphasized Steelhead’s commitment to producing quality work on-site, noting that approximately 90 percent of manufacturing is done in-house. The space includes a dedicated area for metalworking, complete with specialized tools and workstations for custom jobs. In keeping with the company’s sustainability focus, modular components are stored on shelves in the warehouse area, reducing the need for single-use materials.
Focus on team development and customer engagement
In addition to manufacturing and inventory areas, the new space has several rooms dedicated to customer engagement and employee development. Mullen showed visitors the soundproofed booths that can be used for client meetings and project inquiries, designed to provide privacy and quiet. The facility also includes metric displays showing real-time data, such as current client projects and weekly discovery calls. These displays are designed to keep the team informed and aligned on positive goals.
Inspired by the “love lock” bridges commonly seen in major cities, a unique feature is a wall where each new customer relationship is symbolized by adding a lock to the fence. This visual display can remind customers of a partner’s value.
Designated classroom space within the facility supports Steelhead’s commitment to continued employee development. The space is used to host professional and personal growth classes, including monthly health and financial coaching workshops. The company also has an on-site library offering books on topics related to the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), which Steelhead has been using since 2017.
Keynote address by leadership coach Renie Cavallari
As part of the event, keynote speaker, leadership coach and best-selling author Renie Cavallari presented insights from her book Dandruff: The number one killer of human potential. Her talk discussed how overcoming self-doubt and “brain junk” can improve focus, reduce stress, and support team coordination. Cavallari’s practical advice aligns with Steelhead’s own emphasis on cultivating a positive and growth-focused workplace culture.
Get involved in the community through the Gift Happy Foundation
Steelhead also highlighted its community involvement through the Give Happy Foundation. What began as a staff committee has grown into a formal charity focused on supporting the environment, arts and community development. Foundation leaders say the charity’s mission is to inspire for-profit businesses to prioritize positive social impact. In addition to inspiring participation, the charity also hosts fundraising opportunities throughout the year to make giving back easy.
The event also showcased on-site custom artwork from Pretty Done, a creative art brand known for its vibrant free-style pop art. Specializing in abstract designs with bold lines and creative color combinations, Pretty Done brings hand-drawn characters, unique typefaces and intricate patterns to life through a variety of mediums, from canvas and clothing to street murals and immersive room designs. Attendees had the opportunity to see Pretty Done’s artistic creation process up close, adding an unforgettable and personal touch to the celebration.
During the grand opening event, several local food vendors (Vitos Tacos, Attack on Rice, and Fast Eddie’s Burgers) provided refreshments to attendees, helping them network, tour the facility, and learn more about Steelhead’s work and future plans. Steelhead’s new space underscores its ongoing commitment to innovation, sustainability and community impact in the exhibition industry.
