Subaru BRZ series. Purple is manual, especially suitable for Barney

The Subaru BRZ lineup is set to expand in 2025, and the company has announced plans to launch a new Series.Purple special edition. It will debut at Subiefest Texas on October 19th and will be limited to just 500 units.

While the company only released a teaser image, they confirmed that the coupe will have a unique Galaxy Purple Pearl exterior with black badging. The model will also feature special 18-inch wheels with a new satin silver finish.

The upgrades continue inside, with black Ultrasuede upholstery on the front sports seats contrasting with gray leather upholstery. They’re held together by gray contrast stitching, a red STI start button and an aluminum shift knob.

Since the special edition is based on the limited-edition model, buyers should also find a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and 8-inch infotainment system. Other highlights include a premium audio system, dual-zone automatic climate control and heated front seats.

Ordinary BRZ

Power is provided by a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine producing 228 hp (170 kW / 231 PS) and 184 lb-ft (249 Nm) of torque. It’s exclusively connected to a six-speed manual transmission with an STI short-throw shifter.

Keeping with the performance theme, the special edition features a flexible V-bar located under the hood that promises to improve performance. Buyers will also find the usual limited-slip differential and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 summer tires.

The 2025 Subaru BRZ Series.Purple will arrive in U.S. dealers early next year with a starting price of $35,445. That’s $1,700 more than the Limited Edition’s $33,745 price tag.
