Subaru drops new special editions in Japan Levorg, Impreza and Crosstrek
  • Subaru adds new Levorg V-Sport and STI Sport R-Black models to the Japanese lineup.
  • Crossstrek Sub Blaze Edition features a sun-fire pearl color and dark accents.

Subaru has been selling special edition models on its home market in Japan for years. Earlier this week, the brand launched several new special edition models in Japan, including two of Levog’s, the new Impreza and a special Crossstrek.

Starting with Levorg, Subaru now adds V-Sport and STI Sport R-Black Limited models to the lineup. Neither offer a performance upgrade to the 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder Levorg that is already on sale.

The V-Sport benefits from several blackened components, making it look more meaner than the standard Levorg. Black badges, black wing mirrors, black roof antennas and black headlight bezels are all part of the deal. The special feel also includes the Ultra Cuede on the seats, red stitching and a real leather steering wheel.

Subaru’s new Levorg STI Sport R-Black Limited features many of the same black touch, but based on a more powerful STI Sport version, it has 271 hp (202 kW) and 258 lb-ft (350 nm) of torque. The V-Sport starts at 3,350,000 yen (about $22,500), while the STI Sport R-Black Limited costs 4,260,000 yen (about $28,700).

New things this month are also Crossstrek Limited Sub Blaze Edition. All examples are done with the same shadow of Sun Blaze Pearl, which is the deep shade of orange. The variation is purely visual, including orange stitching, new gear lever boots and grey leather for door panels and center consoles, including dark grey leather with orange stitching. The front-wheel drive model costs 3,050,000 yen (about $20,500) and all-wheel drive costs 3,245,000 yen (about $21,800).

The final new model is the Subaru Impreza St Black Selection, with the FWD starting at 3,058,000 yen (about $20,900) and the AWD peaking at 3,272,500 yen (about $22,000). Key features include black font fog lamp cover, black wing mirror and black side skirt. Subaru also equipped it with aluminum pedals and new 17-inch wheels.
