Casabah Gems is a family-owned gemstone and jewellery business based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, run by CGA (Canadian Gemological Association) qualified gemologists Hosney Cader, FCGmA, and Adham Cader, FCGmA, who were born and raised in Ceylon, Sri Lanka.
We supply the gem and jewellery industry and discerning end customers with beautiful, faceted and polished gemstones (both precious and semi-precious) at wholesale/retail prices.
We travel between Mississauga, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Montana, Africa, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Kenya, sourcing most of the gemstones close to the source.
Casabah Gems has a selection of premium gemstones:

- Burmese jade and Burmese sapphire,
- Blue-green sapphires from Montana, USA.
- Burmese spinel, Sri Lankan spinel,

- Emeralds from Africa.
Our family are gem traders in Sri Lanka, where there is a popular saying: “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know”. As such, we are uniquely positioned to understand the ins and outs of the Sri Lankan gem trade and are able to evaluate and source high quality, ethical gemstones from reputable and trustworthy sources.
From mine to market
This applies to the entire process, from ethically mined gemstones to the skilled lapidaries who have generations of experience cutting gemstones, using equipment and techniques learned from their ancestors to achieve high-quality cuts.
