Suzuki sales in September 2024 – up 1.22%

Suzuki Motorcycle India reported total sales of 99,185 units in September 2024. Compared with 97,994 units in September 2023, this represents a slight increase of 1.22%. This increase reflects stable sales performance despite challenges in the domestic market. Year-over-year (YoY) growth shows continued expansion, albeit at a modest pace.

Domestic sales fell in September 2024, falling to 77,263 units from 83,856 units in the previous year. This represents a decrease of 7.86%. The decline in domestic sales highlights ongoing market volatility, but domestic sales accounted for 77.90% of total sales in September 2024. These figures indicate that Suzuki’s domestic market share is still considerable, despite a slight contraction.

April-September: Suzuki’s domestic sales increased by 71,962 units

On the contrary, export sales improved in September 2024, reaching 21,922 units. This represents an increase of 55.06% from September 2023’s sales of 14,138 units. The significant increase in export sales reflects Suzuki’s growing presence in international markets. In September 2024, exports accounted for 22.10% of total sales, marking a slight change in the company’s sales layout strategy.

Between April 2024 and September 2024, Suzuki’s domestic sales were 5,16,530 units. This is an increase of 71,962 units compared to the same period in 2023. The growth in domestic sales reflects Suzuki’s continued efforts to maintain its position in the Indian two-wheeler market.

Exports will decrease by 22,037 units in the first half of 2024

Export sales declined during the same period, with 1,03,345 units sold in April-September 2024, down from 1,25,382 units in 2023. The decrease of 22,037 units indicates contraction in certain international markets, possibly due to changes in global economic conditions. Despite this, Suzuki’s total sales from April to September reached 6,19,875 units. This represents an increase of 8.76% compared to 5,69,950 units in the previous year.

On a month-on-month basis, Suzuki’s sales were down from August 2024, when total sales stood at 1,04,800 units. 99,185 units were sold in September 2024, a decrease of 5,615 units or 5.36%. The month-on-month decline indicates that there are short-term fluctuations in the market, but it is still within control.

Domestic demand up 7.34% in Q3: Suzuki continues to move forward

Judging from quarterly results, domestic sales in the third quarter of 2024 reached 2,65,345 vehicles, an increase of 7.34% compared with the third quarter of 2023. This increase of 18,135 units highlights Suzuki’s continued demand in the Indian market. However, export sales in the third quarter of 2024 fell by 10.66% compared to the same quarter in 2023, with sales of 55,354 vehicles. down from 61,956 units.

Total sales in the third quarter of 2024 reached 3,20,699 units, an increase of 11,533 units compared to the third quarter of 2023. This modest growth reflects Suzuki’s ability to adapt to market changes while maintaining a balanced sales approach. As fiscal year 2024 continues, Suzuki remains focused on strengthening domestic and export markets through strategic adjustments.
