Tesla recalls 694,000 vehicles with excessive tire pressure
Tesla recalls repaired Cybertruck, Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. December 20, 2024 — Tesla is recalling more than 694,000 vehicles due to a tire pressure monitoring system warning light issue. Owners will officially receive recall notices in February 2025, but Tesla says all vehicles have been fixed. This tire monitoring recall involves the 2024 Tesla Cybertruck, 2017-2025 Tesla Model 3 and 2020-2025 Tesla Model Y vehicles. This recall occurs because the TPMS warning light may not remain illuminated between drive cycles. While there were no crashes or injuries, Tesla is aware of at least 76 warranty claims and one field report regarding the TPMS warning light. Tesla started sending over-the-air software updates on November 12th. Once a vehicle is equipped with software version 2024.38.7 or later, Tesla owners do not need to take further action. If you have questions, Tesla owners can call 877-798-3752 and refer to tire pressure monitoring system recall number SB-24-00-018.
