Mahindra issues statement following Indigo lawsuit
Mahindra is facing a trademark infringement suit from IndiGo in the Delhi High Court over the use of "6E" in its BE 6E electric car, which will be launched in February 2025. Indian aviation major IndiGo has taken legal action against Mahindra Electric Vehicles Ltd, alleging trademark infringement. At issue is the use of the "6E" identifier for Mahindra's upcoming electric car, the Mahindra BE 6E. The case has been filed in the Delhi High Court and the hearing is scheduled for December 9, 2024. Mahindra is gearing up to launch its all-electric SUVs - XEV 9e and BE 6e - at an event to be held in Chennai on November 26. As seen in the latest teaser video, the electric SUV rides on Mahindra's new INGLO architecture and features aggressive bumpers and a futuristic front-end design, similar to the concept on which it is based. The XEV 9e's vertically stacked headlights are mounted below an attached LED light bar, while the BE 6e has horizontally oriented headlights outlined by C-shaped daytime running lights. Both EVs feature a closed grille, aerospace alloy wheels with flared wheel arches and bold character lines. Based on the company's new INGLO architecture, two upcoming pure electric SUVs (9e and 6e) will be sold through two new sub-brands, XEV and BE.
