August 12, 2024 — Cracked and bent wheels on Chevrolet Corvettes have been a problem for some owners, so GM has announced Corvette Wheels Limited Special Compensation Program. Vehicles covered by the Corvette Flat Tire Compensation Program include 2015 to 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 cars and 2017 to 2019 Corvette Grand Sport cars. The program is available to former and current owners and lessees, but certain conditions must be met. You must provide documentation that the cracked or bent wheel was not caused by impact damage or road hazard damage. GM said the amount of reimbursement or other alternative remedies offered under the program depend on whether the repair or replacement was performed by a GM dealer, the type of documentation provided and when the repair or replacement occurred. The feds say owners of 2021 Nissan Rogues claim the tie rods failed without any impact. August 8, 2024 — After receiving complaints about bent tie rods in Nissan Rogues, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched a formal investigation into the issue. The investigation involves interior tie rods in more than 77,000 2021 Nissan Rogue SUVs. A faulty tie rod in the Nissan Rogue could cause the driver to lose control of the SUV. Owners of 2021 Nissan Rogues say they need to be towed due to a drawbar failure. According to the Nissan Rogue owner who made the main complaint: "Contact stated his wife was exiting the parking lot when the steering wheel pulled to the right and the front passenger side tire was misaligned.
