Mahindra BE 6, XEV 9e electric SUVs receive 5-star rating
Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e, two new electric cars from Mahindra, both received a 5-star safety rating in the recent Bharat NCAP crash test. Both models received top marks for adult and child occupant protection. The BE 6 achieved 31.97 points (out of 32 points) for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 45 points (out of 49 points) for Child Occupant Protection (COP). The larger XEV 9e received a perfect score of 32 out of 32 for adult safety and a perfect score of 45 out of 49 for child safety. Both models are built on the INGLO platform and adopt a skateboard layout with a lower center of gravity, which improves stability, control and safety. Skoda Kylaq gets five-star safety rating from Bharat crash test
Skoda Kylaq has received a five-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test for adult and child protection. This marks the first time that a Skoda model has been tested by BNCAP in India. The top-spec Prestige MT version has an adult safety score of 30.38 points and a child safety score of 45.00 points. These ratings apply to all Kylaq models, giving customers confidence in their safety. Priced between Rs 7.89 lakh and Rs 14.40 lakh (ex-showroom), the Kylaq becomes Skoda's third model exclusively for the Indian market along with the Kushaq and Slavia. All three models are based on the MQB-A0-IN platform . In the recent Bharat NCAP crash test, the Hyundai Tucson received an impressive 5-star safety rating. This makes the Tucson the first modern car to undergo the Bharat NCAP test, joining the ranks of other top SUVs from Mahindra and Tata. Mahindra XUV 3XO gets 5-star crash test safety rating
The Mahindra XUV 3XO scored 29.36 out of 32 points in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), where the driver's chest was adequately protected by the deformable barrier in the event of an offset frontal collision. The Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP), launched by the Indian government in October 2023, uses crash tests to assess the safety of vehicles in the event of an accident or injury and awards stars based on their performance. A 5-star crash test safety rating, such as the one recently awarded to the Mahindra XUV 3XO (or XUV300 facelift), indicates the highest possible score. Tata Curvv, Curvv EV receive five-star crash test safety rating
Bharat NCAP has announced the crash test safety ratings of a range of Tata models, including the Nexon ICE (internal combustion engine), Curvv ICE and Curvv EV. All three vehicles received a five-star safety rating, with varying scores for adult and child occupant protection. Citroën Basalt gets 4-star crash test safety rating
Citroën Basalt scored four stars in the Bharat NCAP test, with adult occupant protection scores of 26.19/32 and child occupant protection scores of 35.90/49. The Citroen Basalt, launched in August at a price of Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom), has already proven its safety. The coupe-SUV shares its platform with the Aircross and has passed the crash test of the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP). It earned a four-star safety rating for adult and child passengers. Safety features on the Citroën Basalt include six airbags, electronic stability control, ISOFIX mounts, hill hold control and three-point seat belts on all seats. It also uses high-strength steel, Advanced High-Strength Steel (AHSS) and Ultra-High-Strength Steel (UHSS), to absorb frontal and side impacts, reduce cabin intrusion and protect passengers. Bharat NCAP launches QR code safety rating stickers for cars
India's New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP) has announced a new campaign to create awareness about car safety among Indian consumers. The assessment body has released a display sticker for vehicles that undergo assessment under the Bharat NCAP programme. The sticker will reflect the car's safety rating assigned by the crash test results. These stickers will also feature the Bharat NCAP badge, a QR code, the manufacturer's name, model name, the date of the test, and the safety rating for child and adult passengers. Thus, customers can quickly access these safety rating stickers and more easily determine the safety level of a car before purchasing it. In addition, each sticker has a QR code that, when scanned, will display a comprehensive report detailing the crash test results of the car.
