The certificate is issued after verifying the absence of deforestation in the assessed area and ensuring compliance with current regulations. The deforestation-free certificate was created to comply with the EU Deforestation Regulation (2023/1115) which comes into force in June 2023. The Regulation sets out rules for imports and commercialization into the EU market and exports from EU countries. EU products include meat, leather, coffee, cocoa, chocolate, soybeans, rubber and rubber tyres, timber and palm oil. It should be noted that from December 30, 2024, all companies and agricultural producers exporting the above products to the EU are required to conduct due diligence.
