Owners in 26 states claim the 8L45 and 8L90 automatic transmissions are defective. September 2, 2024 — The GM transmission class action lawsuit will continue against customers in 26 states who drive Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC vehicles equipped with 8L45 and 8L90 automatic transmissions. Initially, the lawsuit alleged a single defect in the transmission, but now the plaintiffs claim the transmission has two separate issues. Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon recalled over fire risk
General Motors is recalling 8,600 trucks due to a fuel pump problem that can cause fuel leaks. July 4, 2024 — More than 8,600 General Motors trucks are at risk of fire due to fuel pump problems that cause fuel leaks. The recalled 2024 Chevrolet Colorado and 2024 GMC Canyon trucks are equipped with a locking ring that secures the fuel pump to the fuel tank assembly, but it may not be fully locked during assembly. This could result in a fuel leak in a crash, which could cause a fire. In March, the fuel tank supplier contacted GM after discovering that the tank locking ring was not fully tightened. “The supplier determined that during production between February 19, 2024 and March 18, 2024, the machine used to engage the lock ring was misaligned, which may have caused the lock ring to partially engage.” — General Motors Recall letters for the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon are expected to be…
