Plaintiff Robert Riddell purchased a new 2012 Chevrolet Silverado equipped with a fourth-generation 5.3-liter V8 Vortec 5300 engine. According to the lawsuit, the Vortec 5300 engine had defective piston rings that caused excessive oil consumption. Without adequate oil, the engine will not be lubricated and components will not be protected from wear and damage.
