California one step closer to mandatory speeding alerts
The speeding alert system compares GPS data with the vehicle's speed and sounds an alert if the driver exceeds the speed limit September 5, 2024 09:50 Senate Bill 961 just passed the California Legislature and only needs the Governor's signature to become law. The bill would require that starting in 2030, all new vehicles manufactured and sold in the state must sound a speeding alarm when exceeding the speed limit by 10 mph. The technology is already available in other countries, but California will lead the way in U.S. adoption. California Governor Gavin Newsom has received a new bill. The bill, called SB 961, requires automakers to install speeding alerts on new cars starting in 2030. Importantly, the bill only applies to new cars built and sold in the state. Older cars will not be required to have the same technology. The system works by comparing GPS data, including local speed limits, to the car's current speed. If the driver…

The Savannah-based company had hoped to receive FAA certification by the end of 2023 and had already delivered 15 aircraft last year. Gulfstream President Mark Burns, who announced the long-awaited certification at the unveiling of two G700s for Qatar, said the delay was due to a U.S. congressional directive requiring more oversight in the approval process. Take a closer look at Paul’s Acura NSX
As the modified Casino White supercar pulls up to the entrance of the hotel where we'll be shooting, the purring sound of the NSX's twin-turbo V6 engine can be easily heard. It's a unique sound, and aside from the cosmetic modifications, it's what sets it apart from every other NSX on the road. The car belongs to Paul, a local resident and longtime customer of ours. His NSX holds a special place in Chicago (and in our shop), and I wanted to see what makes this Acura so unique. So, on a sunny summer evening, I set up my camera and, in perfect light, began to explore what sets Paul's NSX apart from every other car on the road. The XPEL STEALTH paint protection film we installed gave the crisp white paint a nearly matte look. And, while the film provides a matte look, it's still clear enough to let light shine through and get some of the original shine…
