Hyundai recalls Tucson and Santa Cruz due to wiring issues

Hyundai is recalling 43,000 vehicles that can be moved out of a park without using the brake pedal. December 4, 2024 — More than 43,000 Hyundai Tucson and Hyundai Santa Cruz vehicles are being recalled because the transmission can shift out of the PARK position without pressing the brake pedal. Hyundai warns drivers to apply the parking brake every time they stop. The console extension wiring assembly in recalled 2025 Hyundai Tucson and Santa Cruz vehicles may not be wired properly. Hyundai Motor says it is recalling 591 vehicles in Canada. Once the recall letter is mailed on January 19, 2025, dealers will rewire the console expansion wiring assembly. Owners can contact Hyundai customer service at 855-371-9460. The number of Hyundai's recalls is 273 vehicles.
