Class action lawsuit settled alleging defective front door wiring harness in Volkswagen Atlas. December 22, 2024 — A Volkswagen Atlas class action lawsuit has been settled over recalled front door wiring harnesses. First Volkswagen Atlas door wiring harness class action lawsuit (Sherrod v. Volkswagen) was filed seven days after Volkswagen recalled vehicles, followed by a second Atlas wiring class action lawsuit (McMahon v. Volkswagen) was filed a week after the first lawsuit. The two class actions have been consolidated into this Atlas class action lawsuit and include certain 2019-2023 Volkswagen Atlas and Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport vehicles that are the subject of the 97GF recall. Volkswagen Atlas door wiring harness recall (97GF) VW had been discussing the door wiring issues with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration when it filed paperwork for the Atlas recall with the government. Ford EcoBoost engine recall ends federal investigation
Ford filed 396 EcoBoost complaints, 825 engine warranty claims and 936 engine replacements. December 12, 2024 — Ford EcoBoost engine recalls and other actions help end federal investigation into Ford and Lincoln's 2.7L EcoBoost engine failures. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched an investigation into engine failures in the Ford Mustang following customer petitions to investigate the engine ( here , here , and here ). Ford says the EcoBoost engine failed due to a broken intake valve, and the Broncos aren't the only affected models. NHTSA is aware of 396 customer complaints (including field reports), 825 warranty claims and 936 engine replacements. Hyundai recalls Tucson and Santa Cruz due to wiring issues
Hyundai is recalling 43,000 vehicles that can be moved out of a park without using the brake pedal. December 4, 2024 — More than 43,000 Hyundai Tucson and Hyundai Santa Cruz vehicles are being recalled because the transmission can shift out of the PARK position without pressing the brake pedal. Hyundai warns drivers to apply the parking brake every time they stop. The console extension wiring assembly in recalled 2025 Hyundai Tucson and Santa Cruz vehicles may not be wired properly. Hyundai Motor says it is recalling 591 vehicles in Canada. Once the recall letter is mailed on January 19, 2025, dealers will rewire the console expansion wiring assembly. Owners can contact Hyundai customer service at 855-371-9460. The number of Hyundai's recalls is 273 vehicles.
Singapore: Ministry of Health announces extension
in short The Ministry of Health (MOH) will extend nutritional grade labeling requirements and advertising restrictions to products high in sodium and saturated fat, such as prepackaged salts, sauces and seasonings; instant noodles; and cooking oils. These measures are designed to help consumers make healthier choices and encourage industry reformulation. Currently, the Department of Health has implemented nutritional grade labeling requirements for sugar and saturated fat content in prepackaged and freshly prepared beverages (see our February 2023 and December 2022 customer alerts for more details). On 22 August 2024, the Ministry of Health reported on the effectiveness of these measures in reducing sugar content in beverages on the market and the total sugar intake of Singapore residents. In particular, the Ministry of Health stated that the median sugar content of pre-packaged nutrition-grade beverages has dropped from 7.1% in 2017 to 4.6% as of September 2023, with 69% of beverages purchased as of September 2023 being " A" or "A" grade…

Honda has launched extended warranty plans for its range of vehicles, including the existing City, Amaze and Elevate, as well as the discontinued Civic, Jazz and WR-V models. The plan offers unlimited kilometers coverage for 7 years and is extended to petrol and hybrid variants only. While the petrol models of the above-mentioned discontinued models are entitled to this offer - as they are already part of the extended warranty scheme - discontinued diesel-powered Honda cars are not eligible. Additionally, customers can opt for an unlimited kilometer extended warranty package for two years from the date of purchase, with additional options available before the standard warranty expires. Even those with four-year or five-year extended warranty can get extended warranty up to seven years or up to 1,50,000 km, whichever is earlier.
