Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton is exploring space in partnership with IWC Schaffhausen under Project Polaris. F1: Lewis Hamilton may test Ferrari F1-75 early
Ferrari is expected to give Lewis Hamilton his first test drive in the 2022 Ferrari F1-75 at the Fiorano test track next to its Maranello factory. Lewis Hamilton has exercised a release clause in his contract to prepare for the transition from Mercedes to Ferrari for the 2025 F1 season. The seven-time world champion will make a change after 12 seasons with Mercedes. According to reports, while there are rumors that Ferrari could make his debut during the postseason Abu Dhabi test, Hamilton's contractual obligations with Mercedes include plans to represent title sponsor Petronas on December 10. Petronas has ruled out this option. Antonelli, who won titles in the ADAC, Italian F4 and Regional Formula Championships before bypassing F3 and moving straight to F2, will now make his F1 debut with Mercedes in 2025. Mercedes has announced that Andrea Kimi Antonelli will replace Lewis Hamilton in Formula 1 next season. The talented Italian driver had been competing for the seat alongside George Russell, and was awarded the seat despite the team considering other options. Although Antonelli's Formula 2 season has been tougher than expected, Mercedes remains confident in his abilities. His strong performances in Formula 2 and successful Formula 1 testing have solidified his selection as the team's driver for 2025. Lewis Hamilton's Dutch Grand Prix ended with a mixture of hope and disappointment. The seven-time world champion made a strong comeback from 13th to eighth and felt he could have finished in the top five if not for a tough qualifying session. His team-mate George Russell was also surprised by Mercedes' drop in performance. Hamilton's aggressive two-stop strategy helped him move up to the top five and score four points. Despite starting nearly 10 places behind Russell, he finished just one place and a few seconds behind him, suggesting a better qualifying session could have been a better result. A 2006 McLaren-Mercedes MP4-21 Formula One car driven by Juan Pablo Montoya and Lewis Hamilton is expected to fetch up to $3.5 million when it goes to auction on August 16. Designed by F1 legend Adrian Newey, the MP4-21 was his last McLaren car before moving to Red Bull Racing. Chassis number 21A-03 was driven by Montoya during the Bahrain, Malaysian and Australian Grand Prix.
