The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) officially selected the 25 Extraordinary Minds honorees for 2024 in mid-December. HSMAI Returns to Denver – Conferences + Events

A panel of industry leaders focused on market trends in Denver's hospitality industry, including Matt Ojinaga, Visit Denver's director of convention sales. Christopher Cheney, senior vice president of strategy and business analytics at Stonebridge Cos., served as moderator. At the conclusion of the event, the Board of Directors was officially formed and included Cheney, Ojinaga, Jessica Chamberlain, Mike Pennington, Seth Randall, Eric Valdez, and Amanda Whitley .Nikki Bibbero and Jackson Christensen of Bibbero Meetings and Events are managing directors of the chapter, which plans to host four educational events, an executive roundtable and several social events each year. HSMAI CEO Bob Gilbert dies
The Hotel Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Americas Chapter, the HSMAI Foundation and HSMAI Global announced that President and CEO Bob Gilbert passed away on September 19, 2024. In July 2024, the organization announced that Gilbert had retired early due to serious health issues after 30 years as executive leader of HSMAI. Gilbert’s tenure spanned industry-changing events such as the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the 2008 recession and the Covid-19 pandemic. In his final HSMAI Perspective, Gilbert said, “I am so grateful for this incredible journey and the deep relationships I have built with you. I am incredibly proud of the work we have accomplished together to expand the Association’s reach and impact around the world, and I have had so much fun along the way. It has truly been an honor to serve our resilient industry.” Mr. Gilbert was a beloved friend and admired mentor to many in the hospitality industry, he will be missed by the entire hospitality…
