India-made Renault Triber MPV gets 2 stars in crash test safety
The India-made Renault Triber for the African market was subjected to safety crash tests conducted by the Global New Car Assessment Programme (GNCAP). It was deducted points due to inadequate chest protection for the driver and passenger in frontal and side impact tests. The Triber scored 22.29 out of 34 points in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP). In addition, due to the lack of ISOFIX anchorage, the car only scored 19.99 points (out of 49) in Child Occupant Protection (COP). In the frontal collision, the 3-year-old dummy's head was exposed and the neck and chest were not fully protected. The 18-month-old child seat was installed rearward with the adult seat belt, which successfully prevented the head from being exposed after the frontal collision and provided full protection.
