Launched in India in April this year, the Mahindra XUV 3XO is now available in South Africa with prices ranging from R2,54,999 to R4,04,999 (approximately Rs 12.16 lakh to Rs 19.31 lakh). While most of the exterior and interior features remain the same, the global-spec SUV differs from its Indian counterpart in terms of engine options and cosmetic changes. For the uninitiated, the SUV is available in nine variants in India (MX1, MX2, MX2 Pro, MX3, MX3 Pro, AX5, AX5 Luxury, AX7 and AX7 Luxury) with prices ranging from Rs 7.49 lakh to Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The Indian-made Maruti Suzuki Fronx begins export to Japan;
Maruti Suzuki has started exporting the Made in India Fronx to Japan, with the first batch of over 1,600 units leaving from the Pipavav port in Gujarat. This is the second model from the company to be exported to Japan, after the Baleno in 2016. Notably, the Fronx will be the first SUV to be launched in Japan by Maruti Suzuki. It will go on sale under the Suzuki Motor Corporation name in autumn 2024. Details of the Fronx made for Japan are currently unknown, but the India-spec model is powered by either a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine or a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine. The former produces 99bhp and 147.6Nm, while the latter produces 89bhp and 113Nm. The Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
