Tata Curvv to get BS6 Stage 2 compliant 1.2-litre inline engine

The Curvv will be Tata's first model to be powered by a 1.2-litre direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine that produces 123bhp and 225Nm of torque. Tata Motors has released a new teaser confirming that its upcoming Curvv Coupe SUV will be powered by a new 1.2-litre direct injection turbocharged petrol engine. Called the Hyperion, the engine is a three-cylinder unit that features an all-aluminium construction and is lighter than the 1.2-litre Revotron turbo petrol engine. It features variable valve timing technology, a variable oil pump and an integrated exhaust manifold in the cylinder head, and a water-cooled variable geometry turbocharger for better low-end torque. Compared to the Revotron turbo-petrol engine, the Hyperion produces 123bhp at 5,000rpm and 225Nm of peak torque between 1,700rpm and 3,500rpm. This is 5bhp more power and 55Nm more torque than what the Revotron produced.
