Interesting Find: 1956 Ford Thunderbird Convertible
In this episode Among the fun finds on AutoHunter Cinema, we explore a stunning 1956 Ford Thunderbird, Ford's answer to the Chevrolet Corvette and an icon of the Golden Age of American automotive design. This Thunderbird has been restored to its original glory through a frame-off nut-and-bolt restoration, retaining its original Peacock Blue color, fender skirts, and hardtop and softtop. Under the hood is a 312ci V8 engine mated to a Ford-O-Matic transmission. This Thunderbird has been cherished by its Florida owner since 2007 and just sold at the Barrett-Jackson 2024 Palm Beach Auction for $49,500. Interesting Find: 1971 Pontiac Le Mans T-37
The Tempest is Pontiac's The car remained a mid-size economy car until the introduction of the T-37 in 1971 (its only model year). The T-37 shown on AutoHunter Cinema was not one of the few that originally came with a 455ci HO V8, but it eventually received a transplant. It was rescued from a field in Indiana and given a thorough rotisserie restoration. As part of the process, it was repainted in the factory's Tropical Lime Green color, which matches the green interior. The 455 is paired with a Turbo 400 automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear end. This upgraded T-37 sold for $30,800 at the Barrett-Jackson 2024 Palm Beach auction.
