2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 leads the way from 0 to 100 km/h
2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 leads the way from 0 to 100 km/h

The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 redefines performance standards, earning the title as the fastest production Corvette ever. According to Chevrolet, when equipped with the optional ZTK Performance Package, the ZR1 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.3 seconds and hits the quarter mile in 9.6 seconds. These numbers were achieved on a non-prep drag race using 93-octane fuel and the high-performance Michelin Pilot Cup 2R tires included in the ZTK package. The ZTK package also adds advanced aerodynamic elements such as a large carbon fiber rear wing, front dive plane and extended hood Gurney lip. These components generate more than 544 kilograms of downforce at the ZR1's top speed of 375 km/h, despite the increased drag. Chevrolet claims that without the ZTK package, the standard ZR1 sprints to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. Commodore exceeded the speed limit by 110 km/h

South Australian police have charged a 21-year-old man with two speeding charges after the state's safety cameras twice detected his Holden Commodore going 110km/h over the speed limit. At 4.30am on August 10, a speed camera at the intersection of Elizabeth Grove Main North Road and Fairfield Road recorded the Commodore travelling at 196km/h in an 80km/h zone. Just three days later, on August 13, another safety camera at the intersection of Main North Road and Wolmar Road in Elizabeth North detected the car again, this time at a speed of 203 km/h. Both alleged crimes took place within minutes of the former Holden Elizabeth plant, which produced most of the company's vehicles from 1963 to 2017, including the Commodore in question. On August 18, police responded to the man's home in Elizabeth Downs, where police dog Jacks found the 21-year-old hiding in a cupboard. He was charged with two counts of speeding ($1895 fine, nine demerit points) and two…
