Idiot gets into car accident while live streaming ‘cutting’ stunt
The live streamers were driving a Mercedes-Benz model that rear-ended innocent motorists. It's unclear if anyone was injured in the two devastating accidents filmed in the film. Some internet celebrities run social media channels dedicated to publicizing their dangerous driving behaviour. One of the most dangerous social media trends to emerge over the past few years encourages drivers to "block" traffic, zigzagging down highways and squeezing between cars at high speeds. This is a recipe for disaster, and when driving stupidly like this, things can go wrong very quickly. var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:()}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== "DESKTOP"){ adpushup.triggerAd("0f7e3106 -c4d6-4db4-8135-c508879a76f8"); } else { adpushup.triggerAd("82503191-e1d1-435a-874f-9c78a2a54a2f"); The latest shock factor comes from two separate car accidents in the US, both involving drivers who thought it would be a good idea to "cut off" traffic while live streaming. Both incidents occurred onboard Mercedes-Benz models, and of course, both occurred while the drivers were live-streaming their reckless antics. If…

The live events industry needs your voice: Support NAICS
Listen to audio The live events industry has faced tremendous challenges over the past few years, but one key issue has been present for decades: the lack of dedicated designations for our industry in federal NAICS (North American Industry Classification System) codes. A lack of representation has long hampered our ability to quantify impact, advocate effectively and secure federal support. Now, we have an opportunity to change that by amending superdepartment NAICS code 72 to explicitly include "events." What is Super Sector NAICS Code 72? Currently, supersector NAICS code 72 is designated "Leisure and Hospitality" and covers hotels, restaurants and related businesses. While this designation covers a portion of the hospitality industry, it excludes the live events industry, which often intersects with the hospitality industry and represents a significant economic force. We request that super industry code 72 be changed to 'Leisure, Hospitality and Events' to align with the modernized National Occupational Cluster Framework approved on 6 June 2024. This…

The importance of going hybrid at live events:
3 unexpected reasons to reach your online audienceIn a post-lockdown world, businesses, event organizers and sponsors are eager to get staff and audiences back to live events. While remote working has become the norm and some people are returning to the office, face-to-face communication remains critical for building stronger relationships. However, the question arises: why should we bother including online audiences in hybrid events?1. Expand the scope of influenceEngaging an online audience can be more challenging than an in-person audience, but it represents an opportunity to connect with individuals who might not otherwise be able to attend. These individuals may live in different countries, have scheduling conflicts, or face other barriers to attending in person. By offering a virtual option, you can reach these eager attendees, thereby increasing the scope and impact of your event.2. Increase revenue opportunitiesSelling online attendance tickets can significantly increase your event revenue. Despite widespread concerns that virtual tickets might cannibalize in-person sales, evidence suggests otherwise.…
Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, and the Future of Live Events
Written by Tim Groote, CEO and Founder hold tightlyand members UFI Digital Innovation Working Group. We stand on the edge of something profound. In Amazon's "Rings of Power," Celebrimbor sits calmly, sipping tea in the sunshine, while the truth - a city engulfed in darkness and fire - lies just outside his sight. The illusion is seamless and convincing. That's exactly how I felt when I first put on the Apple Vision Pro at WPP Stream, an "unconference" event in Athens, Greece. This is no ordinary augmented reality (AR) headset. Vision Pro is a major leap forward, supporting both augmented reality and virtual reality (VR). Picture this: I'm sitting in a crowded conference with behavioral economics expert Rory Sutherland, and a 3D character appears. It dashed across the audience, stopped in front of me and refused to move until I raised my hand to high-five it. It was so real that I instinctively raised my hands (easily mistaken for me…

RenCen to live on after GM exits
General Motors and Bedrock have proposed plans to redevelop the Renaissance Center. For nearly 30 years, the complex has been the headquarters of General Motors, but they will move to a modern office building in 2025. The proposal calls for demolishing the two towers and redeveloping the 27-acre site. Earlier this year, General Motors announced plans to move its headquarters from the Renaissance Center to Detroit on the Hudson in 2025. That leaves the fate of the city's most iconic building up in the air, with talk of demolition. var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:()}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== "DESKTOP") { adpushup.triggerAd("4d84e4c9 -9937-4f84-82c0-c94544ee6f2a"); } else{ adpushup.triggerAd("6a782b01-facb-45f3-a88f-ddf1b1f97657"); However, it was largely saved as GM and Bedrock announced their rebuilding plans.
