Maruti Suzuki has launched the new Swift CNG in the Indian market. The car is based on the new-generation Swift hatchback with a petrol engine that was launched about four months ago. Since then, the petrol-powered hatchback has sold over 67,000 units. Coming back to the Swift CNG, the new model comes in three variants - VXi, VXi (O) and ZXi - and is priced at Rs 8.2 lakh (ex-showroom). All three variants of the Swift CNG are powered by the new Z-series 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine paired with a factory-fitted CNG kit. On petrol, the Swift outputs 80bhp at 5,700rpm and produces 112Nm of peak torque at 4,300rpm. In CNG mode, the car produces 69bhp and 101.8Nm at 2,900rpm.
