Is this a VW Ford Maverick Pickup competitor?
The spy caught a possible tester and could preview the Ford Mavericks competitor. If accurate, the model might be under Amarok in the South American market. Releases may start as early as next year, but details are not yet clear. For years, Volkswagen has ridiculed us with new pickups. The Atlas Tanoak concept made a sensation at the 2018 New York Auto Show and previewed the look of the Honda Ridgeline competitor. var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que :()}; adpushup.que.push(function(){if(adpushup.config.platform!=="Desktop"){adpushup.triggerad("0f7e3106-c4d6-4db4-4db4-8135 c5088799a76a76a76f8") adpushup.triggerad("82503191-E1D1-435A-874F-9C78A2A54A2F"); The smaller Taroc concept at the São Paulo Auto Show was followed, when Volkswagen promised a production version in Brazil with "little changes". GM Design’s answer to Ford’s maverick? This Chevrolet
Last year, the report said GM abandoned its small Chevrolet pickup program. GM Design creates pickups with familiar Chevrolet styling characteristics. Such a small truck will compete with Ford Mavericks and Hyundai Santa Cruz. Chevrolet can be done with Ford Mavericks' rivals, and these renderings give us an attractive view of how it looks. The company has not formally acknowledged the work of a new small pickup truck, and the project has been abandoned, according to reports earlier last year. But in the automotive world you never say it will never say it, and it is a truck like Chevy that it may win the winner. var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que :()}; adpushup.que.push(function(){if(adpushup.config.platform!=="Desktop"){adpushup.triggerad("0f7e3106-c4d6-4db4-4db4-8135 c5088799a76a76a76f8") adpushup.triggerad("82503191-E1D1-435A-874F-9C78A2A54A2F"); These renderings were recently shared with the General Motors Design page on Instagram, which often shares sketches and CAD creations made by GM designers. Ford Maverick trucks recalled due to low battery
Ford says about 800 Maverick trucks are being recalled for a second time over battery problems. August 22, 2024 — Ford Maverick is recalling nearly 800 trucks due to weak batteries that were previously "repaired" in an April recall. Ford says the recalled 2022 Maverick body and powertrain control modules may not detect changes in the 12-volt battery charge. This means the driver won’t know the battery is too low until signs appear, such as loss of electrical functions and loss of power. Ford Maverick recall letters will be mailed on August 26, 2024, and dealers will recalibrate the body control module and powertrain control module. Owners of 2022 Ford Mavericks can call 866-436-7332 and ask for recall number 24S50.
Ford Bronco Sport and Maverick 12V Battery Survey
Ford's low battery problem resulted in loss of electrical functions and loss of power. August 23, 2024 — Ford's 12-volt battery problems led to a federal safety investigation in January, but that investigation has been closed due to two Ford recalls. The investigation began after 2021 Ford Bronco Sport owners complained about their vehicles losing power. Ford Bronco Sport owners have reported complete electrical system failures while their vehicles are in motion or parked. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration: "The investigation revealed that 2021-2024 Ford Bronco Sport and certain 2022-2023 Ford Maverick vehicles are equipped with a 12V Enhanced Flooded Battery (EFB) that may suddenly fail while driving. The failure is caused by an internal corrosion issue that is affected by prolonged exposure to high temperatures under the hood." If the battery management sensors do not detect a sudden loss of 12V battery voltage, the driver will not receive any warning. A serious consequence is that when…

More than 37,000 vehicles are being recalled due to a possible fault in the windshield wiper motor. In April, reports surfaced of faulty windshield wipers on Bronco Sport and Maverick vehicles, prompting Ford to launch an investigation. Engineers discovered that water had entered the windshield wiper motor, causing it to stop working. The supplier determined that water was getting into the wiper motor because sealant was not properly applied between the gear cover and the gear case. Ford also discovered that Bronco Sport, Maverick and Mach-E models were equipped with the same faulty wiper motors, which were manufactured on specific dates…
2025 Ford Maverick Lobo is coming soon with a tire-racing version
Ford's smallest truckFor 2025, the Maverick gets some major updates. The latest version of the compact pickup features refreshed styling, optional all-wheel drive, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 13.2-inch touchscreen, and other tech upgrades. Given that the Maverick was introduced as a 2022 model, it's not surprising that it gets these sweeping improvements. What was unexpected was the news about a new street truck variant of the Maverick, the Lobo (Spanish for wolf). High-performance trucks are nothing new for Ford, but they've changed dramatically over the past 20 years. The last gas-powered F-150 Lightning was a 2004 SVT model with two doors, a flareside cargo box, and a supercharged 5.4-liter V8. A few years later, that special place in Ford's lineup was replaced by the F-150 Raptor, a pickup designed to fly over sand rather than burn up pavement. There's a new Lightning, but it's an electric vehicle with a SuperCrew cab. This makes the Maverick Lobo a…
