Ford 6F35 transmission class action lawsuit dismissed
This is not a class action lawsuit, but the Ford 6F35 transmission is allegedly defective. December 24, 2024 — Ford transmission 'massive' lawsuit ends after litigation that usually doesn't happen in court. The Ford 6F35 Transmission Mass Action alleges that 2010-2020 Ford Fusion and 2009-2021 Ford Escape vehicles are defective because of a defective transmission. According to the judge hearing the case, this is not a typical class action lawsuit because of the way the plaintiffs filed their complaint. Whether you call this a Ford 6F35 transmission class action lawsuit or a transmission class action lawsuit, the argument regarding the alleged defect remains the same. The lawsuit accuses Ford of "illegally inducing" consumers to buy the Ford Fusion and Ford Escape 6F35 vehicles by concealing transmission problems with the vehicles. The customer would then have to purchase a vehicle with reduced value and expensive repairs due to the transmission. According to the Ford 6F35 transmission lawsuit, owners claim Ford Fusions…
Ford fuel injector lawsuit busted returns to court
Previously dismissed Ford injector class action lawsuit reinstated by judge. November 26, 2024 — Ford hacked fuel injector lawsuit revived after class action lawsuit dismissed because recall was issued before lawsuit was filed. Does it make sense? Many car class action lawsuits aren't filed until automakers issue recalls or safety regulators launch investigations. In the case of a ruptured Ford fuel injector, a judge granted a motion to reduce the sentence filed by 12 Ford owners who sued. Ford recalls cracked fuel injectors In March 2022, Ford recalled the 2020-2022 Ford Escape and 2021-2022 Ford Bronco Sports as engineers tried to determine the root cause of engine compartment fires. Then in November 2022, Ford announced a fuel injector recall on approximately 522,000 Bronco Sports and Escape vehicles after 20 engine fires occurred in vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5-liter engines. In April 2024, Ford announced a recall of approximately 43,000 2022-2023 Ford Bronco Sport and 2022 Ford Escape SUVs equipped with…
Tesla forward collision warning lawsuit to continue
Tesla vehicles are said to brake automatically even when there are no road objects in sight. November 25, 2024 — A Tesla forward collision warning system lawsuit will continue after a judge allowed some claims to proceed. Illinois plaintiff Joshua Santiago filed a class action lawsuit alleging that the forward collision warning system in his 2020 Tesla Model 3 issued false warnings and suddenly braked on its own when there was no risk of a forward collision. According to the class action lawsuit, Tesla vehicles are equipped with a forward collision monitoring system that uses sensors to warn drivers of objects in the road. But the plaintiff claims his vehicle and all Tesla vehicles are equipped with a defective forward collision warning system. According to Santiago, Tesla owners "experienced unexpected, loud, noticeable forward collision warnings that would occur when there was no actual danger or risk of collision, or indeed any other car or object present. suddenly activated." The plaintiffs…
Dodge class action lawsuit dismissed
The Dodge lawsuit claims the truck was stolen because the anti-theft system was not good enough. November 8, 2024 — A Dodge class action lawsuit has been dismissed after a truck owner claimed his vehicles were not equipped with a functional anti-theft system. The lawsuit was filed by truck owner Brett Wiater, who claims that the 2019-2023 Dodge vehicles were defective, resulting in the vehicles being stolen. According to Wiater, his Dodge vehicle was stolen in April 2023 "(b)as a result of the defect at issue in this case." The plaintiffs argued that each Dodge vehicle should have, but did not, lock its steering and stop moving whenever the vehicle keys were removed from the vehicle. According to Wiater, this steering and shift lock system, along with other allegedly missing functional anti-theft systems, made the Dodge vehicles too susceptible to theft, unsafe, and the lawsuit alleges that the value of the vehicles has decreased. The plaintiff argued that his Dodge…
Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid class action lawsuit suspended
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid lawsuit is on hold as some plaintiffs are sent to arbitration. November 8, 2024 — The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid class action lawsuit has been put on hold as some of the plaintiffs' claims have been submitted to arbitration. The plaintiffs allege that the Pacifica hybrid minivan "had a defective propulsion system that could cause power to shut down immediately while the vehicle was in motion." The lawsuit was filed just weeks after Fiat Chrysler recalled 2017-2023 Pacifica Hybrids due to a problem that could shut down the minivan. The problem in the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is caused by an internal transmission line connector that can short out and cause the engine to lose power and shut down. Like many auto class action lawsuits, this one was filed until back FCA recalled the minivans, but more than 30 plaintiffs claim Chrysler knew about and concealed problems with the Pacifica Hybrid before the minivans were sold. The class…
Motion to Dismiss Ford Super Duty Roof Collapse Class Action Lawsuit
Ford says no Ford Super Truck owners have reported their roofs collapsed or were crushed. September 29, 2024 — The Ford Super Duty roof collapse class action lawsuit alleges that all 1999-2016 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty roofs are fragile and dangerous. The Ford truck owners who filed the lawsuit call their trucks "ticking time bombs," which Ford says is ridiculous. Georgia jury returns $1.7 billion verdict against Ford in 2014 deaths of Melvin Hill, 74, and his wife Voncile Hill, 62 , subsequently triggering multiple class-action lawsuits. The couple was killed in a crash in their 2002 Ford F-250 Super Duty when an incorrect-sized tire blew out. The tire was installed by a Pep Boys service center and when the tire blew, the Ford Super Duty truck rolled violently two and a half times and landed on its roof. (Hill’s truck is pictured above) Ford said that in the Hill case, "the jury was forced to…

State dismisses lawsuit over cracked Jeep windshield
Jeep customers claimed they "did online research before purchasing the vehicle." September 15, 2024 — A cracked Jeep windshield lawsuit will continue in court after a judge dismissed several claims but ruled that plaintiffs can change and refile the class-action lawsuit. The cracked windshield lawsuit involves Jeep Gladiator and Jeep Wrangler SUVs from 2016 to present, which are allegedly dangerous to drive due to shattered, cracked and broken windshields. Jeep owners claim that a small stone can cause a huge crack in the windshield, or sometimes the windshield will break for no reason. In addition to gravel damage, the lawsuit alleges that using the defroster can also cause windshield cracks. One plaintiff even claimed that his Jeep's windshield shattered after being bitten by a mosquito. Jeep owners say they are forced to pay hundreds of dollars to repair cracked or shattered windshields even if their insurance covers the damage, given that most policies have deductibles. Driver visibility issues are said…

Honda argues accidental braking lawsuit should be dismissed
The class action lawsuit alleges Honda Insight and Passport vehicles brake suddenly without warning. September 14, 2024 — A class action lawsuit over Honda vehicles' unexpected braking is proceeding through the courts, but Honda argues that the lawsuit doesn't qualify for another day in any court. California plaintiff Margaret Amaru and non-California plaintiffs Howard Barkan, James Khargie, Andrea Sivakova and Ricky Urena allege that all 2019-2022 Honda Insight and 2019-2022 Honda Passport vehicles are equipped with unsafe automatic emergency braking systems. According to the accidental braking lawsuit, the vehicle may suddenly brake despite there being no objects ahead on the road. The class-action lawsuit comes just weeks after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration launched an investigation into unintended braking issues in 2019 to 2022 Honda Passport and Insight vehicles. Honda calls its automatic emergency braking system a "Collision Mitigation Braking System." Honda describes the system as follows: "CMBS™ features a radar transmitter mounted on the front grille fascia that…
