Specifically, owners complained about the flexible steel seatbelt anchor cables on the outside of the front seats coming off. The vehicles were supposed to be repaired under a 2014 GM seatbelt recall, but NHTSA launched a recall investigation in 2019 after owners continued to complain about seatbelt issues. In June 2019, GM announced the launch of free special insurance N192219480 program, covering 1,345,693 vehicles that had previously been recalled.
