Nissan Titan diesel owners mistakenly poured diesel exhaust fluid into the diesel tank. July 21, 2024 — A problem with Nissan Titan diesel engines allegedly caused truck owners to accidentally pour diesel exhaust fluid into the diesel tank. In short, owners of 2016-2019 Nissan Titan diesel trucks mistakenly poured diesel exhaust fluid into the diesel tank's filler neck and damaged the Cummins 5-liter engine's fuel system. According to the class-action lawsuit, which seeks more than $5 million in damages, Titan owners mistakenly mixed diesel exhaust fluid into the diesel tank, making it Nissan's fault despite a clearly marked gas cap, a different color and a different size filler tube.
