Hyundai is recalling 62,000 vehicles: Hyundai Veloster N, Elantra N, Kona N and Genesis G70. July 19, 2024 — Hyundai's fuel pump recall affects more than 62,000 vehicles in the U.S. and Canada. 2019-2022 Hyundai Veloster N 2019-2023 Hyundai Genesis G70 2022-2023 Hyundai Elantra N 2022-2023 Hyundai Kona N Hyundai has learned that 2,460 fuel pump failures occurred in the United States between May 10, 2019 and June 17, 2024, but there were no reports of crashes, injuries or fires. If the fuel pump fails while driving, the driver will be unable to restart the vehicle. According to Hyundai: "Due to the gradual wear of the fuel control valve (FCV) plunger in the high-pressure fuel pump assembly of the vehicle involved, excessive fuel may enter the fuel pump." In July 2023, Hyundai is investigating reports from abroad of vehicles losing power, setting diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0088, and conditions leading to the replacement of the fuel pump.
