Ryder CEO: Electric vehicle technology needs an inflection point to work
May 23, 2024 For Ryder System CEO Robert Sanchez to double down on electric vehicles, there needs to be a catalyst that makes the technology more economical and operational in the commercial trucking industry. During his keynote at this year’s ACT Expo in Las Vegas, Sanchez was outspoken about how he sees electric trucks fitting into his fleet. “From our perspective, for commercial electric vehicles to work in the real world, we need breakthroughs in battery technology and expanded charging infrastructure. CarMax sued over 125-point inspection
The CarMax lawsuit claims the advertised 125-point inspection is just a marketing ploy. August 4, 2024 — CarMax class action lawsuit alleges the company failed to perform a 125+ point inspection before vehicles were sold. The class action lawsuits include: “Any consumer who purchased a vehicle from CARMAX between the applicable statute of limitations and now that was advertised as having passed a 125+ point inspection.” The class action lawsuit was filed by California plaintiff Douglas Pilcher, who accused CarMax of failing to perform a 125-point inspection on not one, but three vehicles. The lawsuit alleges that in the fiscal year ending Feb. 28, 2023, CarMax sold approximately 810,000 used vehicles nationwide, and that the average price of a CarMax used vehicle was at least $28,000. The plaintiff claimed that the 125-point inspection was very important to him because he was purchasing a used vehicle that had to be reliable. But the class action lawsuit alleges that CarMax falsely advertised…
