Honda says recall should end infotainment litigation
The class-action lawsuit alleges that the rearview camera malfunctioned and the speakers made a crackling sound. January 9, 2025 — Honda infotainment system problems have sparked a class-action lawsuit in Ohio, but Honda says the case should be dismissed because Honda dealers fixed the issues during the recall. Jennifer and Sean Fausto filed the class action lawsuit after purchasing a new 2020 Honda Pilot Touring in August 2020. But the plaintiffs argue that the infotainment system never worked properly to begin with. The Honda class action lawsuit includes: “Purchase or lease of any 2020-2022 Honda Pilot (except LX), 2020 Honda Passport (except Sport), 2021-2022 Honda Passport and 2020-2022 Honda Odyssey (except LX) vehicles in the following areas All persons or entities in Ohio.” Honda has issued technical service bulletins, extended warranties and recalled more than 1 million vehicles due to problems such as the backup camera. Nissan Z recalled due to pop-up hood issue
Nissan is recalling Z cars because the pop-up hood may become deactivated. November 7, 2024 — Nissan Z is recalling nearly 4,800 vehicles in the United States and Canada due to a problem with the front bumper wiring harness. The recalled 2023-2024 Nissan Z vehicles are equipped with a connector for the right pedestrian detection sensor that may be reversed in the front bumper harness. This prevents the pop-up hood from activating. In January, Nissan technicians discovered an erroneous diagnostic trouble code (DTC) when a pedestrian collision detection sensor in the front bumper harness became disconnected. Engineers investigated and discovered the cause and how the problem caused delayed activation or deactivation of the pop-up hood. Nissan is not aware of any warranty claims or injuries related to the issue.
